Essential cooking recipes to taste during Ramadan

During Ramadan, the evening meal should be eaten after sunset. Photo by Rasiel.

Ramadan corresponds to the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar. During this period, practicing Muslims worldwide abstain from food and drink from sunrise to sunset. The feast of Eid al-Fitr marks the end of this period of fasting.

When the sun has set, family and friends gather around the table, where delicious specialties of oriental cuisine await them. Couscous, tajines, bricks, and CORBA are some of the most typical savory dishes served during this period and, in particular, to celebrate the end of Ramadan. On the sweet side, dates, namoura, and baklavas delight the guests’ palates.

In 2022, Ramadan begins the evening of Friday, April 1st, and probably ends on Sunday, May 1st. Ramadan Mubarak!
